Here take a look at the dedicated bigbox forum, they they a show off section you can view (including some from me
) Show off | E3D Online 3D Printing Forum The e3d hot end can have nozzles between 0.2mm and 0.6mm so you can vary the quality it’s capable of, I am very happy with the quality I am get…

I have a bigbox so can answer any questions you may have? I opted for the acrylic frame, I have no concerns about the strength of the printer or how solid it is. My previous printer was a prusa i3 which was based on an aluminium frame and had a lot more give to it! I think it all comes down to how i…

Here is a picture I took many moons ago, it shows the different layer heights of .3 then .2 and .1 http://i.imgur.com/LoO9aEe.jpg Hopefully that gives you a good idea of the quality differences between layer heights. A good comparison is a single sheet of A4 paper is 0.1mm. I would concur with the…

Thanks for hosting and running this, was very nice surprise to get so much in our sample box! Also I think the calibration items you are looking for are these ones from Make magazine: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/make-2015-3d-printer-shoot-out-test-geometries

No worries it’s a nice colour the blue grey, when ever I order a spool I ask my other half to pick a random colour and that was one of my favourites. For the woodfill yes! It smells like a kind of mdf as it’s printing, it’s quite pleasant! I have printed several things with it and got a whole spool …

I just received the white from colorfabb and its more of a cream white, I see they have a bluewhite and wonder if that is more the pure white I was expecting, so double check what you are ordering is what you expect! I would also put a vote in for the blue grey as I really liked that colour and pre…

Maybe an idea for the next London meet up could be to bring unwanted sample filaments and swap/donate to each other. I have a few samples I no longer need as I got spools or ends of colours that might be useful to someone to test with? Plan to test the same pack from the London event this week as we…

I just got some samples in 5m rather than 10m from globalfsd.com, they have colorfabb as well as other vendors. I was in same boat and wanted to test some others without getting a whole spool or whole set of sample packs. Although I do now have a spool of woodfill as it’s great fun to print with

Very good idea, have you seen this blog post before? Reprap development and further adventures in DIY 3D printing: Update on 3D Printing Filament Spool Standard Might help you out!

All signed up so see you there.

I will have to give this a go with the lettering. I have just used random super glue previously and works well so far. Lucky I have direct extruder so used as much as possible before buying spools. Been going at 50 or 60 as my default speed so seems good so far!
-
Very cool design, did you swap Filament mid way or print too parts and glue together? Yes I was shocked at sample pack size, but I think that’s because I came from a faberdashery sample pack of 10m each! I think the 4-5m colorfabb samples were good to get an idea or the colours. Also thanks for top …

Thought this was an interesting print, someone said jewelry would be a good thing to try but obviously needed a geek edge on that. Left is after first go at sanding, right is straight after I got it off my print bed. I have no idea why the left looks so orange! It’s starting to shine but its not qu…

Take one of marvin in bronze, still need to sand it down some more and polish. And look into my top layers, seems like it needs a bit more feed rate. This is normal size as well, I may have to double the size like the other example! [marvin bronzefill first polish.jpg]

Sounds interesting, hope it’s as good as the event in Amsterdam 3dhubs just had!

I looked at every supplier in UK and it worked out cheaper to get it direct for a single roll! And I didn’t find sample packs in UK. I ordered the colour pla sample pack and the special material pack and it arrived a few days later (make sure you get some blue grey it’s my favourite at moment) and i…

For those keeping track. So far my bronze fill print list is… (pictures to follow) A Marvin (of course) A bust of someone or myself if I can get my scanner working The one ring to rule them all Chess piece from the set I have printed for myself (non commercial license unfortunately but a great set)
-
Marvin was of course my first print, however need to work on the infill as it seemed to have a gap on top edge! It doesn’t look anywhere near as good as that link! Clearly have some work to do on improving my skill set!
-
Thanks George, will take a watch this evening and see what tips and tricks I can learn
-
Now I am tempted to try to get my kinect 1 scanning to print myself in bronze… Thanks for the link
-
I think mine was 2 or 3 business days so shouldn’t be too long now
-
No worries, just off the filament from colorfabb, Have a few rolls and really like their stuff so I would recommend it! Even if you only get the sample packs as a nice test of materials or just random colours. Just need to wait for your first test order to complete and voucher will appear on your hu…

Mine was reviewed without any payment setup. It took a few days (it was over a weekend). Hold tight I think they will get to you soon!

Hey, after enjoying the sample pack from colorfabb I ordered myself some woodfill and bronzefill. Although I seem to be out of any good ideas of things to print with the bronze (the woodfill is half gone already)! Has anyone here got any great ideas of something I could test my printing + finishing…
-
I got the sample pack a while ago and I have 3 owls on my desk at work, white PLA, woodfill and bronzefill. People are literally blown away when they pick up the bronzefill and the weight of it and can’t believe its part plastic. I didnt even sand it which I regret now!
-
Very nice! Just received my roll of bronzefill so I know what I will be trying
what else do you have planned to print with it?
