Thanks, I’ve read RichRap’s blogs as well has his work with the 3DPA in creating a universal spool standard.
This information will be used for sure, but his work focuses mostly on the dimensions of the spool.
That being said, I’ve been in contact with RichRap and he is very willing to help out in this project.
Because of his work on the universal spool standard, he has a lot of knowledge about this subject.
My main focus will be looking in to eco-friendly options first, as this will determine in part the final design because of the production method, material and properties we want in our new spool.
If you guys have ideas about new and/or innovative materials or possibly other end-of-life options (recycling, bio-degradable, re-usable etc.) to make for a more environmentally sustainable spool in any way, feel free to let me know on the ColorFabb blog or in here.
