did you select the appropriate extruder to extrude from? this usually happens when you preheat one extruder but select to print with the other… I did this a few times when I was starting
-
You need to set your cooling fans on… if it’s PLA they always have to be on at 100%… if they’re ABS then I would set them on at 50% and reduce the speed… what you’re getting is that the print is printing too fast that it’s not letting it dry so the heat of the next layer is transferred and deformin…

I agree with Thomas_Craddock, the latest update to Flashprint enhances print time and quality so much that it makes Simplify3D almost entirely useless… I’m also within the first 30 days to return my Simplify3D license so I’m quite considering that… I tested printing 2 marvins: 100 microns, 100mm/se…

You could also try Kapton tape with abs slurry… because if you do blue painter’s tape with abs slurry the part will be almost impossible to remove from the tape… so you’ll end up with a part that has blue tape all over it… with kapton tape it just peels off after it’s cooled down… granted it’s anno…

The FFCP is a clone of the Makerbot Replicator 2X isn’t it? if so, you can print this object http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:127297 to align both extruder nozzles… I don’t own a FFCP but I do own a Makerbot Replicator 2X and it works like a charm!

I personally purchased 5x5 mm heat sinks with 3M glue for all the steppers on my Replicator 2X… they do tend to get really hot at times… but that’s only because I do prints right after prints… so these heat sinks allow faster cooling into the chamber… but overall they will get really hot and there’s…
-
Yeah that’s my temp now… I was printing at 210 before… I didn’t want to go all the way to 230 because it’s not makerbot’s filament (too expensive)…
-
so you placed 2 oil filters just to have one run through a sponge with oil and the other one empty to dry out? that’s clever… but I think I found my problem… I increased my extruding temperature 10 degrees and it seems to be working so far… haven’t tried a more difficult piece but so far so good
T…

So I’ve been somewhat successful after adding the oil, but now it seems the prints are just warping… I never had that issue with PLA before… not on my Replicator 2, or even my reprap… so why now on the Replicator 2x?? I’ve leveled the plate so it’s a tight fit. I’m using blue painter’s tape, I’ve cl…

true true… but there was no “proper” documentation, which was such a huge learning curve/gap
-
That’s awesome! my tries have come out terrible, either too gooey or just simply skips… I don’t have steel nozzles, I have the 360 brass base material and plated with twinclad xt coating… but they’re at .4mm… I have found that Colorfabb XT-CF20 melts at 210 just fine… you can easily push the filamen…
-
Hi again! So I’ve tried the suggestions you mentioned… and for some reason this time around it’s working so far… I hear no clicking noises coming from the extruder… granted I printed a calibration pyramid and in the middle of some dragon piece… but before, at any time it would just print the first …

looks cool, will give it a try and let you know
-
well the filament itself it keeps breaking at the top of the extruder when I leave the filament connected with the oil filters… do you remove the filament off the extruders after printing? maybe I should have removed them after every print… Yeah I’ve not had the chance to get different rolls (I bou…

Oh I didn’t see your second quickest post! Sweet! how did you hook the fans up? The one that I am using (on previous post) I hooked it up to an external supply… did you hook up yours to the mobo of the printer? Thanks!
-
Hey Thanks for the amazingly fast response! I truly appreciate it! I do have the extra cooling fan from thingiverse and I did print some oil filters but the filament kept cracking… so I removed that idea… have only been using Makerbot’s brand of filament so I don’t think it’s too bad quality (speci…
-
do you have pics of your setup? I tried it for a while, but the print kept hitting the clips or getting stuck… also how did you cut the glass in half (I’m guessing a glass cutter duh but if you didn’t I’d be happy to hear it!)
-
Wait… so you have successfully printed with PLA on your replicator 2x??? where are your settings for PLA? my Replicator 2X can’t! as soon as I start a print it might start good, but midway it just stops printing, or skips a layer or two… Some insight would be awesome, since I haven’t been able to p…

Sailfish does work with a Replicator 2x, I installed it on mine and it works like a charm
-
I had that same issue a few weeks after I received my Replicator 2x… luckily I was under warranty so I received a new mightyboard… that’s the issue… one thing I could think of suggesting to avoid that issue (microprocessor overheating) is to wire a fan perpendicular to the board to push away the hea…
-
Did you figure this out? I’m in the same boat as you and do find it annoying that I can’t adjust the speed of prints… even with Sailfish…
-
I’m using a Replicator 2X with sailfish, I never had to do any offset adjustments, everything works just perfect! Better print quality than the main firmware… now if only I had 149 USD to spare for simplify 3d…

I use a mac as my main computer and for slicing, it works fine… Sailfish is just the firmware inside your Makerbot machine, does not discriminate OS.
