Hi,

as stated in the title I have a problem with my speed settings when I slice files with Makerbot Desktop (v 3.9.1) for my Flashforge Creator Pro. After the 3.9.0 update I am not able any more to set the different part printing speed right; in fact, the printing speed seems to be the same for any combination of settings I set in the slicer, so I have to turn down the speed manually from the printer monitor (and obviously I find it really annoying).

Can anyone give me some tips about which settings I have to correct to avoid this problem (extrusion speed, some specific speed, settings I never touched because I don’t even know what they do…)

thanks a lot!

I had issues with the 3.90 update with rafting and supports and I went back to 3.8.1.306. The update for 3.90 is buggy and I would stay away from it. I have the mac version and 3.8.1.306 runs fine. Go back to 3.8.1 is my advice.

This was the last possibility, I was looking for another solution but this one seems to be the best (only?) one. Can I just ask you if you can suggest me where to download older versions of maker bot desktop?

Unluckily I bought my printer only a few months ago so at the moment I have not much money to spend; sure this will be my next purchase as soon as I save a few money  meanwhile, I just wanted to gain some experience with maker bot desktop which seems to me to be simpler, but I am finding lots of annoying problems…

I really don’t like Makerbot desktop. Try using Cura or Slic3r. They work well. You might like one of them better. Simplify is by far the best though.

I do not like Makerbot Desktop too, but Cura doesn’t export x3g files so it is unuseful for me (my printer’s marvin firmware is 7.7 and over 7.0 “classic” gcode is supported no more, and you have to use x3g format). I think it is the same for Slic3r so while I wait to buy Simplify I have to use Makerbot…

Did you figure this out? I’m in the same boat as you and do find it annoying that I can’t adjust the speed of prints… even with Sailfish…
