Another months old design
Why are people downvoting new designs and upvoting old ones who should be disqualified? BAD 3dhubs, bad!
Cool but old work made many months prior to the contest…
Cool but again made months before this contest. You should make a new low poly star wars for this contest. Btw, my nephews love the low poly pokemons made by you that I printed for them.
Thank you K3 with your support
I find all of your points to be true and am happy that you like my work. I hope this competition doesn’t crumble as it spent me a very long time to create my entry
Here is my entry into the contest (designed and printed for this contest) – A Dejarik holochess game board and holomonster game pieces:

Hi everyone,
This is my R2-D2 which was designed from scratch and printed off on my Da Vinci AiO printer at 100 microns. I do apologies for such a late entry and fully accept that I may have no chance of winning, but after spending days and days modelling the fantastic R2-D2 I thought I would enter the competition to show my creation.
It was printed in 7 parts, then assembled. The body was glued, with the head, while the legs were connected with joints, allowing it to pivot. All of these files are attached to this comment and may be scaled up to an appropriate size.
After reading a few of the comments I have come across a few complains highlighting that this competition requires a 3D printer in order to win another. I fully understand what many have said, but I would like to say that you may use the 3D hubs service. For future projects that anyone has I would be delighted to offer my assistance with my hub GIFT3D.
I hope that you all enjoy my project
To all over participants, MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

First Order
RTS-002 (Radar Technician Scanner Mark2)
This device is used by certified radar technicians on all First Order land or space-based transportation and military base support. It is designed to help quickly diagnose and repair flaws in the complex radial patterns that are produced when locating and tracking various types of vehicles and life forms.
This mark 2 design was implemented as a mandatory replacement for the mark 1 due to numerous flaws in design and functionality that was discovered by First Order leader Kylo Ren after his experience using the device during an undercover Starkiller Base recon operation as a radar technician.
Since implementation, there has been a lot of disagreement from First Order radar technicians about the new scanner and have expressed frustration that the functions are more cumbersome than the original design and have other highly questionable features that are deemed unnecessary, such as a described “loud creepy and raspy voice” that indicates when a scan completes as well as another button that no one in the First Order can explain, only that it produces what some call a strange electronic breathing sound with no known diagnosis or repair function. First Order Leader Kylo Ren refuses to discuss making any further changes to the design and has threatened sanitation duty to anyone who argues against any aspect of it.
Note from the designer - Kylo Ren
“The radar scanner I have put in place within the First Order is something I am most proud of. I would consider this to be the Grandfather of all scanners we have ever produced. I am also satisfied in how simple this device is to use. With a simple voice command ‘Show me’, the device will scan for any and all problems known from our vast troubleshooting holocron and then uplink to the scanner the most effective solution to mitigate error on the technician’s part.”
Case Study - Anonymous First Order Radar Technician**
This has to be one of the worst updates I have ever seen made to our scanners. Before the mark 2, we had a simple one-button diagnosis with a singular holo-readout that mapped out the source for where radar pulse blackouts happen. The mark 2 doesn’t completely work right. Also In the instruction guide there is supposed to be this ‘show me’ command, but it doesn’t do anything! It just sits there and never comes back with a proper diagnosis. I feel like i’m staring at something that adds no value to my job. Thankfully the green button is there as a manual press function that the mark 1 had.
The scan confirmation voice feedback thing is very annoying and loud. There is no way to override it into a silent mode. One of the buttons sounds like someone having a severe case of a loud breathing and have yet to get any answer as to what that even functionally does for us technicians. No one can give me a straight answer on this and rumor is the last person who did know this scanner inside and out was killed in an unfortunate freak accident in the manufacturing unit which also destroyed every mark 1 scanner and device blueprint to make more, so without a proper field testing area we continue to have to use these scanners without full training on the device.
** The anonymous individual is now deceased.

Thank you I created it specifically for this contest. I don’t expect to win, and never did but your support means a lot to me.
Awesome out of the box original thinking! 5 stars from design to paint. This is memorabilia that deserves a place on my wall next to the DL-44.
Hi Ryan,
I recently downloaded the RTS-002 at your YouMagine page and I was impressed with all the work that you put behind this project. I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan but I instantly recognized the design elements from Kylo Ren’s lightsaber and Darth Vader’s mouth guard & chest box. I especially like how you integrated the First Order logo into the front end of the scanner. You have successfully created a unique design that is worthy of being part of the Star Wars galaxy and I’m sure that future ‘Matt’ cosplayers will enjoy this prop you have created. Congratulations and good luck on the contest!

Hi yoda3d,
Are you allowed to enter with two separate entries? I just find it a bit unfair as you have another eatery later on. I would nderstand it if you had two designs as a bundle in one comment, but isn’t it cheating having two separate entries
Hi yoda3d,
Are you allowed to enter with two separate entries? I just find it a bit unfair as you have another eatery later on. I would nderstand it if you had two designs as a bundle in one comment, but isn’t it cheating having two separate entries.
You clearly know that you should enter with two designs as this one is in French. You just hoped that nobody would notice.
You clearly didn’t read that the up vote system is not how it is rated but by a Ultimaker and 3d Hubs Jury? They changed it about 2 weeks ago.
So cool
Hi guys, my entry is a full size “Wookiee Bowcaster” that I designed for this contest. I have only recently started 3d printing and my first project was a custom lightsaber. I chose not to enter that because I designed and made it just for me. The bowcaster is not from any movie it’s built to fit me. I decided it needed a little something extra so I added a detachable “Ryyk”, a Wookiee blade that also acts as a fore-grip. My original design was not so smooth, the entire body was more textured to give the impression that it was carved from a Wroshyr tree. When the rear stock took 7 hours to render, I figured a change of plan was called for. A couple of pieces I left for you to source, the wires from the scope mounts to the body, although I have holes for them to go in to. The bowstring I’d suggest you drill into the half ball on the strut, tie it off and then glue the the other half of the ball on. The reason I didn’t design those is because the wire looks more realistic if it’s a real wire. I will use coil wire for mine. I broke the pieces down to fit an Ultimaker 2 bed, and oriented them for the cleanest prints. If you have questions about assembly post here and I should get back to you. It’s a big project that takes a long time to print, but I think the finished product will be worth it. Normally I like to make my weapons somewhat functional but in this case I went with a cosplay friendly version. I could lie to you and say this build went smooth but that is not the case. As I’m new to all this I am still struggling with the settings. Failure after failure and I can’t blame my machine for doing what I told it to do. I could have also photoshopped pictures of a finished build, photography kind of being my thing. I definitely could have fooled you, but, with Billy Joel on replay while I designed this I must have heard “… honesty is such a lonely word, everyone is so untrue” a hundred times. So I’ll be honest. I’m probably not going to finish building this before the deadline and though I know master Yoda won’t approve… I’ll try. If it is the will of the force that I be disqualified, so be it. I still want to submit something and share with the community. I hope you like it.

Darth Vader Reveal Bust
I guess I better have at least one in before the dead line. I really wanted to have a model that I was working on specifically for the competition and wanted to finish my Jabbas palace model, but rushing it for this finish date was just not possible. But, as there are so many entries that are old models, I might as well join them. I’d rather have at least one in than none
I will enter my Darth Vader bust, may the force be with you all.
Hi GIFT3D , i asked via twitter to 3dhub.they answered me that there was no problem to present two model .But I had to present them separately
You clearly are the on who has reading problems when I already stated that clearly. And if you knew how to read you would understand I was talking about submissions of old entires and not new ones. Also the not so active moderator, Simona also stated, “They (the votes) will be taken in account as a mention of honour from the community.” Thus causing all these unwarranted downvotes.
When you try to ridicule someone that they can’t read, make sure your reading comprehension is there for yourself first.
This is the type of new works I hoped to see from the beginning. If only the rules were more clear and invited NEW DESIGNS rather than allow people to repost oldies, we would have gotten a lot more designs like this.
The yoda is one made exactly the same by around 100 persons, the DV I did a lot more than just the base so is not the same as I downloaded a short while ago. For the competition the LarsHomestead is the most important as mentioned…
Ok. That’s good to hear. I just though you were trying to trick the judges with two entries. If they allow it then I’m happy. What I still don’t get is why you have one in French.
Good look with the contest.
The winners have been decided!
Drum roll please…
Congratulations to the 1st prize winner who wins an Ultimaker 2+ → @AxisLab with the Custom Star Wars C3PO Themed, Team Unlimited - e-NABLE Arm. We all love your design. We really appreciated your time in designing it and make the STLs available for a wonderful cause as the E-Nable project.
The runner up for the competition is @Sturnino, taking R2D2 and Arduino to create this awesome design. You win 6 spools of Colorfabb nGen! Well done.
Finally 2 spools of Colorfabb go to @Thomas_Kreidel with his Super Star Destroyer Executor.
Thanks all for sharing all your designs, participating to the competition and bring the Star Wars props to the next level. You really made it!
Cheers,
Simona

Thank you all for the very kind words on my collaborative effort in making this goofy, but original piece we created that we felt could have existed within the Star Wars universe branching from the inspiration that came from the SNL Kylo Ren Undercover Boss short.
As a whole I’m actually VERY surprised such little deliberation was involved in the decision making and wonder if the staff had truly taken the time and consideration to really look at every entry here based on how fast this contest came to a close and was decided upon. I do believe this competition had a set of rules that the submitted creations had to be of something that has yet to be introduced into the Star Wars universe and not alternate artistic versions of things that already exist (and won’t ever exist in the universe that way because they already are as we have been presented).
I can take not winning just fine. I am extremely proud of this piece and had one of the best times of my creative life helping be a part of making something that started from absolutely nothing, to becoming something that sits on my desk right now. We really believed in this one and had a good feeling others would get a good kick out of it. Thank you everyone for the great feedback and up votes! Congratulations to the winners.
thanks!
Oh. Thank you
Before anything else, congrats to the winners, those were some awesome entries, I will definitely print that Super Star Destroyer.
Having said that… serioulsy? Acording to the rules “Final Submission Date : March 21, 2016”, it’s still March 21.
I was finishing my print, (I know it was cutting it close, but the printer decided two days ago to break on me), and was hoping to submit it today, you guys need to write better rules, this was a mess from the start.
Use your tablet or smartphone to create a StarWars lamp with this 3d print.
While charging your tablet in this accessory you have a lucent StarWars lamp.
Load a free app f.ex. “LightTemperatur” or “flashlight” on your device, make it lucent and put it into the stand. Choose the colour you like, suitable to the colour of your room or to your mood.
To charge your device while it works as a mood-light put the charging-cable through the slim opening on both sides of the stand. At the back of the stand you can find an opening to insert your device easily.
If you like to use the lamp without your device, you can use a self-adhesive LED-stripe, just like a real lamp.
You can scale the STL files for the size of your device.
Have fun with the “StarWars-Light”!

It definitely seemed like they were anxious to end this competition ASAP and they sure did.
Oh my God! I’m speechless!
I just got back from the Midwest RepRap Fest with a ton of new filament too.
This is going to be one hard working machine, and make a bunch of kids really happy!
These are some other hands that I have printed customized, and donated if anyone is curious to see what I do in my off time.
