Great news! This is a lot more fair. Hope to see brand new designs! March 21 is still the deadline and a winner is chosen on the 21st as well? Hopefully the jury doesn’t weigh too heavily on votes then for the sake of the late entries. Also you might want to state a specific cut off time on the 21st.

haha +1 for the happy meal comment
Yes I will re-enter Simona, but I am working on a new one specifically for this competition - I have probably 50 or so I could enter that have been made previously, but that doesn’t require alot of effort and there’s no fun in that, also I think more exciting to see new designs from others also - so far all the entries are ones I’ve seen many times on other sites, so yeah it would be good to have a refreshing load of new starwars models come from this if anything. :p.
I absolutely agree with you and hope you win!!!

I am De-entering the competition as well.
For the same reasons as Geoff_Wicks: I have made these models in the past and not specifically for the contest so i feel kinda weird about that.
Plus all the fuss about the contest kinda sapped my moral so i don’t want to be a part of it anymore.
I’m still gonna let my designs available on Youmagine for people to enjoy. I usually post only on MyMiniFactory but what the hell… I might as well let these here.

So so so so so soooooo cool! Do you think it would be possible to make it a little bit bigger without changing the electronics?
Yep it would work without any problems.
Maybe the hole for the ultrasonic sensor could be too much large after scaling (not an hard problem to solve).

Hi everyone !
Here is my design entry for the contest : let me introduce to you guys Gasgano’s racing pod ! (seen in Star Wars Ep1 Pod Race Lap 2 (Deleted Scene) , and also in the N64 Star Wars Episode 1 : Racer )
Because pod racers are so cool and crazy
I removed original strings because they looked ugly, and replaced them with filament chutes. Looks much better and way more solid.
It would probably have looked way better and detailed if printed bigger (I printed it 5% scale).
STL file attached.
Hope you like it, enjoy and good luck to everyone =)

I’d like to participate with my Jedi Holocron Cube, one of my favorite Star Wars related items. It was designed to be very easy to print, no support/rafts/etc, while allowing for a lot of customization regarding post-printing finishing options. Inside is a 1"x1"x1" space for adding lighting effects. In the photo I printed the internal cube in transparent PTEG, and the side panels in white ABS. After printing the side panels were spray painted with 24k gold acrylic. 3 side panels are attached to each half of the internal cube. Everything was printed at 200 micron, the internal cube was printed with 0% infill, and the side panels 100% infill, and It took about 12 hours. It was designed to take advantage of a 3D printers ability to repeatably make complex object, print in place small push fit pins, and print objects that contain internal voids for electronics.
You can download the files to print the Jedi Holocron Cube, at the following link.
"A holocron, short for holographic chronicle,[1] was an organic crystal-lattice device which stored phenomenal quantities of data guarded by the device's gatekeeper. Holocrons were used to hold information on force techniques and instruction manuals...

Here is the screen accurate Cosplay prop of the Storm Trooper Officer Pistol (SE-44C) I designed and printed. I originally designed this for the 501st Legion but decided I’d also enter it into the competition!
There are to many parts to just upload them to the post so here is the link! I’ve attached an image showing my print next to the actual screen prop picture.
Dont forget to follow me on facebook and instagram if you like what i do

I do see an issue with people entering a tonne of previously made designs, as it gives newer designers little chance to compete.
If I had created the comp (I wish…) it would have been the following criteria:
1. The model must be created for the comp (otherwise we’ve seen it all anyway - if you are into 3D printing chances are all of these are not new)
2. Only 1 entry per person.
3. Winner decided soley by 3DHubs and not how many friends you can get to come and upvote you.
Good to see they got 1 out of 3 right so far. Here’s hoping for the next comp.

One of my favourite Star wars characters is Count Dooku, especially the Clone Wars version, and I have been wanting to sculpt one for a while now, so here it goes. It was 3d sculpted using ZBrush and 3d printed on a Zortrax m200, then Hand painted using Vallejo paints!
The project was supposed to be a study after the original sculpt of Darren E. Marshall a challenge to see if I can make it look as close as possible to the original and a huge desire to have that sculpt in my office, I ended up learning so much from this project.
Make sure to check out my Blog for the entire project walkthrough

Hi guy’s!
My entering for the competition is a designed by myself lightsaber . I wanted to do something different for this competition since it is my dream to one day work or participate in a star wars movie or project. The lightsaber consist of six printed parts and takes a total of four hours.
Design is my passion, with this idea in mind I’ve designed a lightsaber thats easy to print and very easy to assemble. So if you like it give me a thumbs up and the force will be forever in your favor!
