Using bearings is another factor when designing and building a quiet printer.

Thank MaddieG For your reply never heard about stepper dampers. Just wonder why 3D printer companies are not using them?
-
Hi Are they any articles/link on this? I 've come across forums that say that the stepper motor drivers and determine the noise level of printers, also it depends on the current, Lower the current the quieter the printer. Is they a formula, for a stepper motor, stepper motor drivers, current drawn …

Hi I’m looking into building my own 3D printer ( Like everyone else). Who is the best supply company for high quality 3D printer parts, EG electonic mainboards, motors etc, in the UK, which are not over priced? Any suggestions?

Hi Thanks for your replies. I’m planning to do some test 3D printing this weekend. Hope to get back with some results.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping flashing to the newest firmware was not the answer, I have read that other people had problems flashing to the newest firmware. But, why it failed on the z-axis only? Thanks.

Hi Uscan The question will be how to re-home the machine correctly. It is working for the Y & x axis but, not for the z-axis.
-
Hi Did a large print to max height. It came out of the z-axis spindle. Now it will not reset to home position on the z-axis. I’ve replace the bed level sensor. I’ve now manually move the z-axis to the home position. Any idea?

Hi Thanks for you reply so-far. I’ve been experimenting and tinkering past few months, but, still can’t get the like prints shown on 3D Hub. Also, I didn’t want to reinvented the wheel, hence, the question for settings so I can use it as a base line and to compare them to my settings. I’ll try both…

Hi I’ve notice in the 3D hub that people can prodeuce high qality print with Printrbot simple metal, at 50 and 100 micron. I Just wonder if any that produced such a perfect print could share a copy of the slicer software settings? I’m testing Slic3r, Cura, Craftware, Meshmaker, and KISS Slicer. T…

Hi Sorry for the long delay in updating this thread. For me the PrintBite worked on the Printrbot simple metal without a heated bed. I had to increase the temperature of the PLA to 210 degree. In some cases when printing at 0.1 mm I use a thin layer of pritt stick glue, which help with adhesive. …

Hi I want to try to print to the Max volume size, 150 x 150 x150mm. Is this possible? The slicer I’m using is Slic3r. Tried to use cura, but, keep overshoot on the x-axis. With slic3r about 40% into the print it also start to overshoot on the x-axis. Any suggestions?

Printbite should have made this more clear that a heated bed is require.
-
Thanks for feedback. I’m not using a heated bed. I’m using PLA. At the moment I’m trying to get the correct height. So, it is not a good idea to use alcohol solution to clean printbite?
