Screen dims when raspberry pi connected

I’m currently running marlin on a BQ Witbox. An issue I’m having is that when I plug the rapsberry pi to the arduino serial port the screen of the 3d printer goes a little dim. The arduino and ramps 1.4 are powered with their own power supply so does not need power from the USB. I have removed the…
