so I took a few month break from 3d hubs and when I came back I turned my printer on and have not gotten any orders is my pricing to high?
-
So I have a solidoodle 3rd gen printer, and the print head is getting well old and some of the structure has cracks from the times I have taken it apart is there a way to buy a new head from another company like makerbot or something, or will I have to just rebuild the one I have? Any thoughts are a…

I will go through and check all that out!

That sounds great I will look more into those cites, and actually my first few rolls of filament were from microcenter but when I went to get some pla whatever I got had inconsistent diameter and that jammed my printer which was very hard to fix due to the odd head design, so right now paying more t…

Ok, I am looking to make a transition to one company so I can do all the fine tuning once, do you have any recommendations, I just ordered a spool from matterhackers, is there any other place that would do better?
-
So I have some cheap filament but I have heard that higher quality will actually give better prints, is that true? Also what are some good websites to get filament from I dont mind spending extra as long as it will be worth it.

What cad program are you using?

So I have a solidoodle 3, and the build plate is warped, I can get a replacement one made of glass or aluminum (which is what I currently have), which one would be better, what are some pros/cons of each? Also where can I get Pla filament that is consistently the same size, I order some a while bac…

Ok I will but I cannot find your email and I do not know how to pm via 3dhubs

ok, thanks

something along the lines of inventing different things, patenting them and selling them and eventually producing them myself. I would try and make products to fill needs I see, so from military applications to at home items.

Does anyone have any advice on how to start a company?
-
ok that makes sense, well if you dont mind me asking alot of questions, can you email me at pmourges2@gmail.com and we can talk more without cluttering this guys post.
-
no that makes sense i will for sure try to get more hands on, when you design stuff is it just making the models or do you have to do a lot of math and say like caculatue the optimal moment of inertia or whatnot, or is it more ok I have to make something to say lift boxes let me just build a few ide…

I would not recomend the solidoodle since it is open the abs filiment willl warp horribly, i have the third gen one from them, that and the rods that the print head moves on have a tendency to move themselves makeing shapes come out poor.
-
ok this is a bit off topic, but what type of stuff do you do a mech engineer, im going to be doing that in college and i was curious what you think of it and all.
-
sorta curious, how long was it before you got your first order, and do you have any tips to that help you get the word out, and two if I am having warping issues with abs I use hairspray and whatnot will pla be better or worse as far as warping?
-
turn the temp down and make like thin rods or something at each corner with marvin in the middle and turn travel speed for non print moves down this will greatly increase the cool time

I got a solidoodle because it was the cheapest so I was thinking this might be a hit or miss, and it turned out to be really good, the customer support is good, they fixed all the problems I have encounterd, ok so the prints come out pretty good, obviously they are not going to be perfact but I got …
