So I have a solidoodle 3, and the build plate is warped, I can get a replacement one made of glass or aluminum (which is what I currently have), which one would be better, what are some pros/cons of each?

Also where can I get Pla filament that is consistently the same size, I order some a while back and it had big lumps in it that would get caught just above the extruder.

As for the filament, I use colorfabb - their filament is probably the best you can get for your money.

Don’t bother trying to order parts (especially build plates) from solidoodle. Go to home Depot, Lowe’s, or ace hardware and buy a piece or 1/8" glass cut to your lxw. Use folder clamps to clamp down to your AL plate and level using the glass as your reference. Don’t forget to readjust your z-height after.

Hello usually the plate is in aluminum but the glass is more efficient for heating all surface. for abs and pla I use glass with a glue (Vinavil). So you replace the original bed and you put on in a bed of glass (use folder clamps to clamp it). finally in a bed of glass put the glue. good bye and Merry Christmas

yes, i do this. I take original al plate then i clamp a glass (cut with dremel) and finally I put the vinalvil. 24h later it’s ready.

you can put another vinavil when it finished. Another tip when i print with ABS i use hair spray into plate, so as to improve the grip.

Hello,

What are the dimensions of your plate.?

Also … Yes… use glass if possible…

I also sell PLA filament… not sure if I can give my web site…

I my have a plate for you… need pictures as well.
