Search for a Type K thermocouple on eBay. You can use those.
Contact Amie (ammjill) on Skype, this is one of the official CTC contacts - as official as it gets with the chinese manufacturer anyway - they do sell spare parts to somewhat resonable prices, there are other sources around the web where you can get parts but mine arrived after 4 days. I paid 24€ for 3 Thermocouples with a discount for buying 3 - normally they are 10€ each.

This happened to me. I tried to go high quality with OMEGA and they didnt work properly. I would not just buy a k type from ebay, i would go to makergeek http://www.makergeeks.com/du3dprth.html 3 , Thats where i bought mine. The length of these thermocouples dont seem to be standard so you might find yourself with a cable that is too short, as i did with the omega.
Be very careful buying replacement parts on eBay. While you are correct, our printer uses a type k thermocouple, it must be electrically isolated from the sending lug. Remember our bots switch the heater on the low side, meaning both wires of the heater core have positive voltage until needed. If the heater core shorts out to the block it will send that voltage down the tc killing you motherboard. You must use a replacement from flashforge, Wanhao or ctc. The Next thing that will need replacing in assuming is one of the thermal cartridges as these are all essential consumables

Basicly the lug screws into the hole the ring type was mounted. It seems to be the newer prefered method, both MBI and Flashforge have switched to these. You need to ensure the lug is M3 to be compatible with your block. Here is one thing that you may find, with the lug type sensor you tend to set your extruder temps a little higher. This is due to the lug type being a better heat conductor. While sensing 210 at the end of the eyelet type, the screw holding the eyelet might actually be 215.
