Hey Guys just wanted to show off my latest creation. We just finished printing a large ED209 from the movie Robocop for Imaginables.com.au 1 . Check out the photos! Printed straight out from an Ultimaker 2, little to no post processing. No painting. Using Colorfabb Shining Silver, and Black Flexible filament from Ultimaker.
This 3D print model is made from 23 parts.
The final build is approximately 210mm wide x 280mm deep x 245mm high
Those prints turned out really well! I thought it was airbrushed at first, cool to see some of the experimental ColorFabb filaments put to good use. Did you have to reprint any of those small parts?
Did reprint some parts over and over cause I was trying to make everything as print friendly as possible. However I must admit the leg could be print friendlier. Currently needs a lot of supports. Perhaps version 2.0 we will fix this.
Great work guys. I love to see these ambitious projects that push the boundaries on size and construction as it really shows that 3D printing is about more than just printing small plastic robots (even though that’s the way everyone starts with an Ultimaker).
Love the picture where it looks like it’s penned in the printer ready to burst into action.
Clip above the arm? All the greys printed using colorfabb shinning silver, the blacks printed using just black PLA, the rubber joints printed using flexible filament black from ultimaker and the elbow is printed using colorfabb bronzefill
