Hi @

I appreciate the effort 3DHubs is doing to improve, and I am trying to adapt to the new pricing/quoting format.

In the thread about the new pricing system I already expressed my opinion, in short: time and wheight should also be considered. Anyway, I am here to see if anyone else have had troubles trying to fill in the new pricing (or quoting?) form.

I have found some flaws I will try to explain (or Is it that I still do not know how to use it):

  1. Minimum Order Value (MOV). If I define a MOV it reflects in Marvin’s prices instead of the First Print (FP) price. MOV is copied into the “Customer Pays” row. This happens from the second Layer Height to the last, regardless of which Layer Height the Hub chooses as first.

  2. “Sliced Volume” (SV). Neither SV works from the second “Layer Height” determined by the Hub to the last. Any value in SV has no effect in the Customer Pays row.

  3. The First Print field must be available for every Layer Height. I cannot charge the same amount for a low quality First Print, say 300 microns, and for high quality First Print like 75 microns, for example. Different First Print prices should be considered for different Layer Heights.

  4. 75 microns should be considered in the Layer Height menu. This is the maximum quality some printers can provide.

  5. Order Completion Time. I think it should be a range defined by the Hub. For example from 2 to 5 working days. If the Hub only gives one number wether it be low or high, chances are tha he/she loses clients or get bad reviews because hub did not keep the time for a printing. And, on the other hand, the hub may be discarded more often by customer filters. (Well, I do not know if I explain it clearly.)

That is all I have found when trying to define prices with the new quoting format. Perhaps I do not know how to use it yet. Has anyone had the same problems? Thank you.

Hi @graphite42 Thanks a lot for this feedback!

I have a session today with the Dev guys, so we’ll go through it in detail. Will get back to you asap

Cheers,

Filemon

@graphite42, I’ve also had difficulty with understanding the Order Completion Time. Even though it says “once the order is paid by the customer”, the timer seems tied directly to when the order was placed.

For example, I’ve set my hub to 2 working days for prints. If I receive an order on Monday, converse with the customer for a day, and accept the order on Tuesday, but the customer waits until Wednesday to pay it, the due date remains Wednesday.

That is right. It also takes for granted Saturday and Sunday, I mean if the order was placed on Friday the timer does not skip the weekend days. Well it was like that with the previous pricing quoting system. I cannot tell you about the new one because the system would not allow me to set prices properly, therefore I have not received any quotation request neither an order.

Hi again @graphite42,

Here I go:

1. Minimum Order Value (MOV). If I define a MOV it reflects in Marvin’s prices instead of the First Print (FP) price.

Yes, this is correct. If the MOV represents a price that comes down to a higher amount than your “first print (FP) + other pricing details” for the Marvins, then the MOV becomes leading. Example_,_

  • Say, FP = 5 and sliced volume (SV) for a Marvin = 10, total price for that Marvin =15
  • If your MOV is set to 20, then the price shown will be 20 as this is your minimum desired order value it over rules the first calculation.

2. “Sliced Volume” (SV). Neither SV works from the second “Layer Height” determined by the Hub to the last. Any value in SV has no effect in the Customer Pays row.

I’ve gone through all your settings and it seems to work for me. Could you maybe attach a screenshot of the issue? It might also be the same reason as 1. where your MOV is overruling the other price settings and therefore you seen no changes.

3. The First Print field must be available for every Layer Height. Different First Print prices should be considered for different Layer Heights.

This is actually possible, see screenshot attached

4. 75 microns should be considered in the Layer Height menu. This is the maximum quality some printers can provide.

I’ve put this on the dev backlog. Indeed, it’s feedback I heard more past week.

5. Order Completion Time. I think it should be a range defined by the Hub. For example from 2 to 5 working days.

Ok, this is something we need to consider. To give you some idea, this is probably a more complex addition then 4. for example. But I’ll put it on the table.

Ok, let me know if this is what you need.
Thanks again for all the feedback. Helps us a lot!

Filemon

Thank you very much for your explanation. Now it is more clear to me. I have made the adjustments already. Best regards.
