Hey guys!

Now I’m pretty new at this… I got my printer last year, and it’s been a learning curve every day… But I’d say I’ve gotten pretty good at it!

I recently(Finally) got a few rolls of filament and wanted to try out multi-material printing.

No what happens is, from the Makerbot Software. I loaded the Dual-Hilbert Cube Example. It sent it to the printer, and the printer started heating up. I preheated it, so I didn’t notice at first. But it only printed with the right extruder. When it cooled down too much, I could hear the stepper churning away at the filament, but nothing was coming out of the nozzle.

I then tried making a .x3d file. Loaded it onto the SD card(After a huge fight with the update of the Makerbot software, had to roll back to a previous version) and it did exactly the same…

Left extruder didn’t heat up.

I have PLA in the left and ABS in the right…

Also… Anyone else having trouble with the new Makerbot software?

It keeps telling me “Printing failed” and “File no longer exists” and when I click on “Preview” the bed is just empty, and this is with the preloaded examples…

No left prints, it really only wants to heat up the right extruder.

About the problem with the left extruder, there is a bug in the current version of Makerware, when you use a duplicated profile.

The left extruder on my Flashforge only heats up when I choose one of the standard profiles (low/standard/high) and change it’s settings.

I really hope they fix this in the next version

Ok! That makes sense, since I duplicated the profile to change the values for the PLA…

You say it should work on an original? If I repurpose, say, low for this jop…?

check if in the printer settings the left extruder is enabled, if I’m not wrong , info and settings-general settings-toolcount->DUAL , after the upgrade firmware mine resetted to one, after u set dual the monitor should show left and right exstruder, I hope is somethin simple like mine

Hey! Thanks! The problem was with the Makerbot software. Apparently there was a glitch…

Thanks anyway!

**Update 2**

Nope. It’s definitely 0 and 1 to assign the extruders, but the software is ignoring 0 when I use it.
