A Challenge!
Marvin in colorfabb Bronzefill.
The issue with this filament is that it has “tighter” envelopes with regards to speed, temperature.
I had to print it 3 times to make it nice:
After first print I had to reduce resolution from 0.06 to 0.1mm
layer height. Also had a temperature drop in the beginning (Check Legs!),
due to FANS full 100% , and not gradually. Avoid that!
Then the ring on top looked completely melted,
Second print lower temp: 205.
Then it fused so badly so the ring broke off for nothing in post processing.
Successful attempt:
Printer: UM2, with 0.25mm nozzle and custom heater block upgrade.
Bed: 60, no tape or glue but clean glass.
Layer: 0.1mm.
Initial print temp: 225 (sticks much better)
After few layers temp: 215 (!)
Fan: FULL after first few layers.
Fill: 30%
Filament: colorfabb Bronzefill
Speed: 30mm/S (Cura at 50 default, and UM2 at 60% = 30mm/s)
Layer: 0.06mm
Final print, No Processing

Impressive print! Is your nozzle really only 0.25mm wide? I already experience cluttering whilst printing with the regular 0.4mm nozzle on the UM2. I’m definitely going to try your settings. Thanks!

Yes! The nozzle is 0.25.
I have installed a Custom heater block in the UM2, and can use nozzle
“any” size…
Thank you!
Wish now I took some more time in post processing…
Thanks Gabi!

Great Marvin! I am dying to try bronzefill, but have not done so because of the potential nozzle wear. Are you using an original UM nozzle or another brand?
Nice! What would it look like with some post processing?

Really cool to see bronzeFill printed with a 0.25mm nozzle. Never seen this before, cool stuff!

I am using the Custom Heater Block, it is for UM2 only!
I use a E3D V6 0.25mm Nozzle
The one I printed at 60 micron in the photo, I have not post processed.
The good one I processed 5 minutes already!
I am using colorfabb bronzefill to prototype parts, even investors can not
tell it is not metal, haha!
Hey you!!
I am dying to get a1-2kg spool of BRASSFILL!
I will make soo good reklame for it in the UM forums!
Of course, I will pay. HELP
I find it clutters ( like in my posted, failed print in the picture )
when setting to high resolution!
I find 0.1mm lh to be perfect.
All this changes with nozzle size, material, speed, temperature.
brassFill will be available soon, but only in the 750gr and 1,5kg size
I got the sample pack a while ago and I have 3 owls on my desk at work, white PLA, woodfill and bronzefill. People are literally blown away when they pick up the bronzefill and the weight of it and can’t believe its part plastic. I didnt even sand it which I regret now!
