The internal diameter of the octagon is 22.6mm which I believe is US 13.5. If you can let me know what US14 is in mm, I can either rescale the whole Ring or modify just the octagon. The ring conversions I found online don’t seem to go upto US14.

Have you been quoted an prices for the cad work at all?

if I got this right the inner diameter for a US size 13 1/2 ring is 22.61 mm and for a US size 14 ring it would be 23.01 I hope these are right since I’m going off of wikipedia, also I haven’t been quoted a price for the cad work just yet and I’m honestly a little worried it might be out of my budget which I’m keeping relatively close to 40 dollars since I have to get 14 of the size 14 rings printed and 30 + of the size 13 1/2 the only part that needs to be modified is the octagon the rectangle part ontop of the ring has to stay a specific size and measurement otherwise it won’t work for what I need these rings for

Ok, the dimensions won’t be a problem. I would charge an hours work for the cad approx £ 40 (UK pounds sterling).

Once the stl file is ready I can quote for the 3D Printing if you like, these could be done on the high res. Envisiontec machine for best quality. There’s a few images on my Hub.

Whoops is right! I fear I may have to “start over”, almost! Thanks Adam!

After starting somewhat over! I can continue to add detail.

And here is where I found the ring sizes: http://www.celtarts.com/ring\_size.htm

All for today!

how much would that be in US dollars? also if at all possible I’d probably ask for the file to print somewhere near me since I live in the US

Currently £40 Sterling converts to $62.8 USD

ok and as to the question of letting me have the model file once it’s complete

Yes, of course, no problem. Not sure if attaching it here would make it public though, so maybe I could email direct, if that’s best for you?

that would probably work, so there will be two model files correct? one for a size 14 and one for a size 13 1/2? Also do you accept paypal for payment?

Yes two files. You can pay by paypal, but could you pay in GB Pounds please?

I will need the dimensions for the top part and images if any more detail required.

there are two photos of the ring with a side view with a tape measure and a front view with again a tape measure

I’ve drawn the top rectangle part; 30 x 12 x 2mm and the pip on top is 1mm high, 3mm diameter at the top with a 45deg chamfer.

I thought you were going to give clearer images and dimensions of the top part. Do you need anything changing from what I’ve drawn?

honestly no the only issue is the fee for the model commission, I’m not trying to cheat you out or anything but the amount you gave as your hourly fee kinda over shot my budget a bit especially considering that I’ve to keep my budget rather low since I’m sure printing off the required amount of these rings will Not be cheep

Let me know what you decide to do, whether carry on with it or leave it for now. There will be paypal fees aswell on top of the initial cost. (Transaction fee and currency conversion fee and cross border fee!!)

You may well get a cheaper quote from someone closer to home.

Cheers

Adam

well the problem with that so far is that Your the only one whose actually gotten some progress done on the model everyone else so far vanished

It looked like the two of you were going to “finalize” the design. So I stopped…but I can continue!

well this is a project I’ve been trying to peruse so I’m keeping my options open so I won’t be finalizing anything right away till I weigh in all my options
