I am a lover of anything STEM related. I got into 3d printing a few years ago through my job and have loved it since. I don’t see 3d printing as the end goal, but it is definitely a great tool to have to enhance your process. I’m looking forward to see what exciting projects some of you are up to.

  • Yes I think those file formats are more universal so they’re used when transfering models. Not sure what software you use but you can usually simply go to save as and choose the desired extension. Simply pick the one they prefer.

  • Hi, I offer ninjaflex on my hub, but my print bed dimensions are 300X200X300mm. I could print it in parts, then join them. You can contact me if that’s something you’d be interested in

  • Hi, has anyone connected an e3d external thermocouple board to a rambo 1.2b board? I’m trying to install the e3d volcano with the thermocouple, but got stuck trying to connect it to the rambo board. this is an image of the board I have and the thermocouple board is from filastruder. • I think what you’re looking for is something like this How To Make Resin Copies of 3D-Printed Figures - YouTube there are a few different ways and materials to do this, but the concept is the same. For a 3D printed mold, nylon would probably work pretty well

  • Hey Dave, I could definitely help you with the design and prototype, but like cobnunt said, it is worth looking at other options for mass production. If 3d printing seems like a good option, then we could go from there. I can also help you with the schematics if another process is chosen. There’s so…

  • You might find what you need here Search Thingiverse - Thingiverse There is one called lense protector, not sure if that’s the part you mean

  • I think for this application, polycarbonate is a preferred material, or nylon as a second option. You might have to print the panels in multiple parts and fuse them together if they’re too big so you should take that into consideration as well. The hardest part would probably be the design itself to…

  • I can probably help you. I’m located in dallas

  • I use the split tool in solidworks that lets you split a part as much as you want, but that might not be a free solution unless you get a trial or student version. I would think that any CAD software would have a similar tool though

  • you could use the app 123D catch on your phone to scan yourself. You would have to sit very still though. Do any changes you want to the model, then just print

  • I have cleaned out the bolt and calibrated the bed. I did notice though that I changed the feeding tube and this one is not as stirdy so when it is extruding, it tends to bend a lot to one side. You think that might have something to do with it?

  • I’m using the 3mm white abs from matterhackers.com

  • I have a consistent problem with mousebites on my airwolf 3d hd. it seems to be printing fine for a while, but I always get one eventually during a print. seems to happen more when there is a lot of retraction involved like a part with towers far apart, but happens nonetheless. I’ve already tried cl…

  • Hey, I have an airwolf hd and got some nylon 618 for it, but I’ve had a lot of trouble feeding it through the bowden tube for some reason. Can’t even get it to the hot end. I’m just wondering if this is normal or if there’s something I’m missing. filament is 3mm and the tube doesn’t seem to be damag…
