That is an interesting suggestion for when you don’t have dual extrusion option.

You can actually print this without support if you cut the model right at the limit of the solid bottom. Then you would print the big part with a flat surface on the bottom, and the remaining ring alone. No support, yay ! You can use netfabb basic to cut this, it is free. If my explanations are …

Recently made a Pikachu based on the same idea with filament leftovers. Failed the ears as I tried to print’em out of yellow ABS while the rest is made of polymaker, laywood and plain PLA. As a result, the nozzle got clogged from burnt out PLA because I changed the heat from 210 to 235 for the ABS…
