Hi Charles, Try manually turning the threaded rod at the back of the printer while the printer is off. Turn it in the direction to lower your plate all the way to the bottom. Then restart the printer and you should not have any more crashes. Best regards, Peter @makerwiz

Both are excellent 3D printers. If ease-of-use and continuous output is more important, pick the Replicator+. If print quality is more important and steeper learning curve and more troubleshooting is not a problem, pick TAZ 6.

The smart extruder for 5th gen Makerbots are definitely easy to get clogged. On the bright side, Makerbot does offer free replacements for the clogged extruders, at least within the warranty period. There are also instructions on unclogging the extruders that may or may not work. Overall, I expect m…
