Hi I would suggest replacing the sensor and I also use Buildtak on the surface, the filament sticks great to it and allows for your bed to be raise just a little bit higher without causing poor adherance.

Z-axis artifacts (wobbling, irregularities, waves, ribbing)

Buy a proper z couplers from printrbot. It will fix the majority of your problems.
