We like our eSun and Octave Filament, but we’re always open to trying new products to carry on our platform. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Even though it is very expensive compared to eSun etc. i love Colorfabbs PLA/PHA blend, i have not yet printed very much with this material but it is a really nice filament if you look for PLA that is a little bit more flexible and less brittle. Also i use Colorfabb’s XT for my large hobby robots. The parts that i print are very large and have to withstand disksanding aswell as quite alot of force depending on the exact robot. XT has physical properties similar to ABS, but has very low warping. For other projects i use leapfrog filaments that i got in a package because i ordered a starter kit that did not only include the Creatr HS but also some filament spools. I am currently smoothing a statue made out of leapfrog’s ABS with acetone, even though the print by itself (layerheight 0,1mm) is very smooth. For some flexibility and also due to the very high friction i have a spool of Ninjaflex, i use the high friction property for tires and joints, where i press two disks of Ninjaflex together with a spring, the friction makes it possible to move the joint by hand and then it holds it’s position by itself (like the joints on most desktop lamps).
For gears etc. i use Taulman3d’s Bridge Nylon which prints really good after it got baked (moisture), Nylon has an extraordinarly smooth surface which makes it perfect for moving parts. I also printed a bowl and some other food-safe items with T-Glase by taulman, which is very much more translucent then the clear XT.
As the last materials I have made some experiments with sample-length filaments from Colorfabb’s fibre/metal blends. I love their metal blends (did not yet print BrassFill) the finish that is archievable with those filaments is amazing. I did only do some very small WoodFill prints which did impress me, but they are not that mindblowing compared to the metal filaments.
I have not yet printed with carbon blends, because i have no stainless steel nozzle .

This is no place for advertising, I don’t mind if you mention your website/Hub/… but please stick to the topic! @EEZITEC asked for your filament recommendations and experience with brands. Please don’t take this personally, I don’t have the intention to insult you, but your comment is just about advertising your website and it doesn’t help EEZITEC. Especially if you do not even list the different kinds of filaments that you use (sell). -Marius

eSun and Octave are filament brands, the thread is about brand recommendations.
I am not sure about PVA filament, but PVA is great

Yes, eSun and Octave are brands that we have worked with. We are also trying Gmass and Precision3D, open to trying more.

Taulman brand Nylons. The parts I’ve printed have held up almost as good as injection molded nylon parts during torture testing and have also saved me a lot of money in the prototyping phase vs. using Objet/Dimension/Z-Corp/SLS parts and they are very functional.
Thanks Jory! This is very helpful as we’re expanding the type of filament we carry outside of just ABS and PLA. What machine do you print on? What size filament do you use for prototyping?

I currently use 1.75mm Taulman filaments on a PolyPrinter 229. It’s a VERY fast machine and prints very nice. I recently made a list of printers on another thread where I list out testing results from quite a few printers. PolyPrinter was up near the top for print quality, but material options (open source) and the crazy speeds it has pushed it over the top for my personal choice. It just may not look as nice as some other machines or have their slick marketing/website…but they make up for it in machine features and performance.
This is the thread with my results:

Lol no worries, thanks for the suggestion!
I read your list and research results, well done Jory! I really appreciate it
