Does anyone have any idea whether if you apply xtc-3d to t-glase then does it still remain food safe?

Hey Sangini,

Technically, XTC-3D is an epoxy, which is definitely not food safe. I would not recommend applying xtc-3D to an object you want to remain food safe. Also, make sure your hot-end has minimal lead in too!

Yes I saw that data sheet too. Although it seems safe there is no mention of ‘food safe’ details.

FYI…

From Taulman site: “FDA approved – t-glase is specifically made of FDA approved polymers for direct food contact/containers. This includes cups and other liquid storage parts as well as utensils.”

So, that’s to say, the material is approved. Or, more specifically, the material intended for injection moulding is approved.

Just worth pointing out that FDM printed parts can’t really be described as “Food-safe”. There are simply too many nooks and crannies where bugs can live in prints. Perhaps if the print is dishwasher safe, you can call it hygienic but I’d be very careful about calling a print “food-safe” unless it’s made of anti-microbial plastic.
