I have spent the past week printing Filamentive Woodfill trying various finishes from sanding, staining, and polyurethane. I have to start by saying that this is the easiest woodfill I have used, the layers stick excellently and there never was a jam before, during, or after prints. A characteristic that stuck out to is how dark the filament is, this is one of the darker woodfills I have used. Another characteristic I noticed that I liked about Filamentive’s filament is how much it resembles wood. That is a major plus for Filamentive as many other woodfills look and feel more like plastic.
Below are pictures of some of my results . If you have any recommendations please comment below!
This print was the very first print I tried. No finish.
LEFT: Light sanding, stain, polyurethane
MIDDLE: Polyurethane, polish
RIGHT: Un-finished
Lightly sanded with 400 grit wet-dry, stained with mahogany, 2 coats of polyurethane
Multiple coasts of polyurethane, polished

Loog Great man,
Like the gloss on the polyturethane parts.
Great quality! I really love woodfill, I will try polyurethane soon, the result looks great. I had tried sanding and polishing, but it didn’t look as real as your prints.
