Hi all,
I’m new to 3DHubs but am fascinated by this world of opportunities created here … Thanks for making it possible …
My reason for posting is that I am underways with a design where I need to assess the acoustic qualities of some of the various materials that can be used in 3D printing. This could be:
- carbon/carbon-fiber,
- carbon re-inforced nylon or similar materials,
- high res materials that are acoustically “dead”, yet still stiff and strong,
All materials needs be “high resolution printable” - preferably down to 100/50 um - and for the high res materials (resin I assume) down to ~10 um.
To this end I am most interested in finding a place where I can buy/get samples of such materials. Any of you know of such a place/places?
Greetings from Denmark,
Jesper Mønsted
You could always contact the companies that make the material or find hubs that already offer the material and make an order from them.

Shipping to Denmark may be expensive. Do you have any specific properties that the material needs? If you contact filament companies near you and ask if they have thermoplastics engineers on staff they may be able to assist you in finding the right material or making a custom formulation. We could bring it to our engineer though as I said, shipping might be expensive.
Also, what about layfoam?
