Hey guys,
It’s awesome to see the Velleman community so active here on Talk
I just wanted to see what you guys are printing? any exciting projects?
Here in Amsterdam I am trying to print this thing:
But just can’t get the sword to work… It always breaks off after printing. Let me know if you have any tips.
Cheers

You can try higher infill and print a little bit warmer like 10 Celsius higher so the filement fuses bether.
Hope it helps.
Greetings from Nijmegen.
I just printed a large combiner feet for my Combiner Wars Transformers Superion. It’s a big too big
Printed at 200 Micron cause else it would take 10 hours to complete, now just 5.

Hi Arnoldas, With which material are you printing that statue? I would recommend ABS and before removing the print you can take a paint brush and dip it in acetone, paint the sword and other weak spots to melt the layers together. This should strengthen the print and should allow a better removal. Otherwise you could try materials like nylon or polyester (most common ones: PET, XT, PETG, Alloy 910) Especially the Taulman3d materials have very good layerbonding strength. Good luck, Marius Breuer

Negate the sword from the model for separate printing. One of my golden rules, divide and conquer.
Most Models need post print work, Clipping, Sanding and painting.
If you need joined part to be stronger you can impose one or more post holes so that you can glue in cut down filament as posts, I find the results far stronger than just surface gluing.

Once you’re done with the whole project make sure to share it on Talk ^^
Great tips I’ve only printed with PLA and Resin… The form 1 didn’t even print it. It failed when printing the sword… I’ll have to turn to the Leapfrog for this!
