Hello, I need to have something printed. It is basically a 34mm diameter circlip that is about 3.5mm deep. What would be the best material to choose so that there was a little squeezability… only about .3mm so as to allow the circlip to enter and grip within the seat.

I would go for Nylon Bridge.

Thanks for that advice. Does that exist in black? And how does that show up in the lists of material available in the various hubs, ie

Is it called nylon bridge or just nylon?

Bridge is product of Taulman. They have it only in Natural color.

But there are other Nylons for example:

Prima Nylon is in Black color,

If you are looking for nylon on hubs (i offer nylon bridge) you should ask the hub owner what specific nylon they use. Bridge is a special blend of nylon made with tight tolerances and very much research.

I would also concider colorfabb’s XT or maybe even ABS, both are very durable and less flexible compared to bridge.

However they have more grip and are easier to print, i guess more hubs will offer those two compared to bridge.

Don’t go for PLA as it is too brittle, materials that are specially made for flexibility (you can see that in the name), like Ninjaflex (obvious) or stuff like this is too rubber-like and flexible.

Hey Sara. Personally, I’d offer ABS. It’s flexible enough, without being too much so. Nylon doesn’t tend to be very rigid so I wouldn’t expect it to be quite as effective. Just my €0.1

Cheers!
