I recently purchased a used makergear that had a couple broken parts. This one part in particular, I can’t figure out. Does anyone know where the part goes?

Its looks like a ferrit cable ring, witch should be put on the cable prevent electrical noise.

Usually they put it on the steppers motors cable.

That is a ferrite bead. No looping of the cable. Just snap it on to the cable. It will reduce high frequency noise.

Yes, that is it… just use a couple of zip ties to put back on.
