Hello! I have a bit of a problem that needs solving. I’m prototyping a drink bottle for a major work, and henceforth need to find a way to waterproof its various components (it’s not your average bottle). It would be really great if the waterproofing technique could help render the bottles components as food grade! Thankyou!
I think you will need to provide more info – what wall thickness, what materials is it made of, etc etc. The more you provide the better the advice will be.
Haha of course! I’m printing with a MakerBot Replicator Gen 5, using their standard PLA filament with a resolution of 0.1. Wall thickness at the moment is default, which I believe to be 1mm.
PETG as mentioned would make a good base for the print. Alumilite clear cast is a two part FDA approved casting resin/epoxy it can be used to coat the inside and outside of the print to make it watertite. Amazing Clear Cast - Casting resin clear-ly the winner! 1
