i have recently updated my wanhao duplicator i3 plus to a 0.8 nozzle since i prefer speed over detail. i have it installed, and it works, but i cannot get my cura settings right. there are visible gaps in the shells of my prints – at first i assumed these are created by too much retraction on the randomized z-seam. however, lowering the retraction from 6.5 mm to 4 mm did not alter the outcome one bit. changing the layer height does not affect these gaps either. is this at all created by the z-seam?

i am quite certain the problem does not lie with the mesh as it printed fine under different conditions. having looked at quite a few printing issues, i could not find anything that quite matched my problems…

i am printing in plack pla filament with a 1.75 diameter.

i have attached a picture of the (failed) print –it is a hollow half of a shoe last– and uploaded my cura settings here.
