I have a duplicator 4 myself but I am testing and assembling some i3’s for a customer.

Personally I don’t like the i3, I think it’s hard to tune/level mainly due to the way it has been build.

I have worked with the reprap delta and I find it easier than the i3, the reprap delta is more work to assemble compared to the i3.

But that a personal opinion, maybe I’m used to my duplicator to much

Hey I got mine about a week ago, and I love it. The only other printer I have experience is the Velleman k8200 which is about the same price, but in my experience the i3 is much better.

Hi Anthony,

The Duplicator I3 is based on the Reprap Prusa printer. With the only difference the printer is pre-assembled. The first edition has been shipped out by the factory in May 2015. The first printers had some shortcomings and the manufacturer adapted this. Now the printer has improved a lot, is more stable, with some improvements and better packaging. The issues with extruder are fixed. Based on the price, we (www.3DFutura.be) sell at 399 € including free transport within Benelux (be the way cheapest in Europe), it is an ideal printer for a starter. The only thing that is needed to be done is to mount the Z-axis (4screws) and level the print plate. The benefit is once you start working with it, and as it’s based on Reprap you can upgrade with some parts. It comes standard with a heated bed, which allows you to print PLA and ABS.

We have sold this printer to mostly starters without complaints and good comments. We use it our selves as well, but to be fair we have some more printers where quality is better but prices range is more expensive, we use the more expensive printers more. But for someone who starts wants to experiment with 3D printing, which will have to be done. It’s not just the printer it’s the design, the slicer parameters, the material. Disregard what some tell, it’s not as simple (do not mean to scare you) as printing on a paper printer. But it’s a lot f fun and once you start you will be excited about 3D printing.

More information about the printer you can find on our webshop www.3DFutura.be. If you happen to be in Belgium on 18 or 19 October you can see this (and our other printers working at the 3DP Europe (3D Print fair) in Brussels. If you need more info you always can contact me on info@3DFutura.be. Best Regards, Dirk

Hey Anthony,

I use the Wanhao Di3 v2.1 and I love it. For the price, this thing is a work horse. You need to practice basic maintenance, but so long as you do that you should have yourself a super solid printer, and for $399 the price is right! I’m in the US so I bought mine from Wanhao USA and although I’ve rarely encountered an issue, their support team has always been there for me and sent me any parts that needed replacing free of charge. I personally appreciate a good warranty! Anyhow, I recommend the Di3 all day!
