Hi folks

I was thinking of vinyl wrapping a relatively flat ABS object to create a wood effect and protect the exposed ABS from UV. Obviously heating the vinyl to make it stretch will also heat the ABS. I haven’t found much about this on the web (eg How NOT to apply Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrapping to a 3D Printed Prop - YouTube). So has anyone here any thoughts, experience, hints and tips to share on doing this well?

Kind regards

Geoff

You’ll over heat the vinyl way before the ABS.
Main thing is going to be getting it to stick to the ABS.

I would suggest contacting Fellers
https://www.fellers.com/

Or another vinyl supplier and see what they may be able to advise.

Many thanks for that answer wirlybird. I will post how I get on with this experiment when I get the vinyly I’ve ordered.
