Hi!

Since i had a clogged nozzle a month or two ago, the quality of my prints is going down. The surfaces of my prints are really rough, compared to the prints i had before the clogging. I thought this woud be due to the temperature, so i edited some gcode that prints a cube, and every 10 mm changes the temperature by 5°C. I started with 220°C and ended with 190°C. But weird enough, i see practically no difference between the layers. They’re all evenly rough in my eyes.

Could it be that the nozzle suffered from the clogged nozzle, or that it’s still a bit clogged?

Thanks in advance, for any ideas

Christophe

Hi Christophe,

Yes, the nozzle *could* still be partially clogged. Velleman suggests to use a piece of guitarstring to clear blockages - hence, I put together this tool a little while ago: Nozzle cleaner (0.35mm nozzle) by Harry_D60 - Thingiverse 6

I haven’t had to use it often as yet: only twice, so far. But the guitarstring bit does seem to do the trick…

Hope this helps?

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the tip, i’ll try it this evening

This is 200µm, it could be overextrusion… i calibrated my extrusion steps/mm and set my extrusion multiplier to 1.

Thanks a bunch for your Cura profile and troubleshooting guide, i’ll take a look at it.
