Using Third Party filaments on XYZ Davinci 1.0Aio

Hi guys,
I’ve been searching like crazy on a way to use the third party ABS filaments I have bought. I have found this video very instructive that helped me creating a Cartridge resetter using just an arduino uno. The problem is that even though I can reset the cartridge and set extruder and nozzle temperatures in the .ino file, the temperature settings cannot be modified, otherwise the cartridge will not be recognized by my printer.
The ABS filaments I bought require bed temperature on 120 C and extruder on 230 C. The default values for ABS on the Aio are 90 C and 213 C and I really need to change them in order to make the filament to adhere the bed. Can someone help me?

Hi, Since it seems you are comfortable flashing arduino’s I would recommend flashing a custom firmware onto the printer. This allows you to completely bypass the xyz software and the need for chipped filament. I’m in my phone atm so can’t link but a quick Google for xyz repeteir upgrade/flashing tutorial should get you started. I flashed mine last year and it’s a whole new machine, print quality is greatly improved and there is so much more flexibility. Plus you can then use 3rd party slicers (cura and skeinforge are my favourites) let me know if you need any help flashing it.

just sorted this problem myself you have to buy a resetter and simplify3d and thats how you set temps for 3rd party filaments

DON’T do this - it will disable the AiO’s scanner and effectively prevent half of the features from working properly. Note the OP is not using a standard Da Vinci. There are no freely available original firmwares for the AiO, last I checked, so there’s no coming back from this - I had to have my motherboard replaced on mine after doing exactly this.

Hi, i have not tried this so cant verify but apparently on the AIO/1A if you hold the up or down button during boot it lets you into a boot loader. You can then use xyzware and the normal about > update firmware to revert/unbrick.
