So I recently got wood filament from MG Chemicals. Printed great, had no issues! Thing is I printed out a piece that needed a raft, and I used wood for the raft and the print.
I was able to get most of it off, but it looks like there is still some left that wont come off easy and am considering using a dremel. I also had to use a razor to remove the raft and it left a couple dents.
Luckily its on the underside and nobody will ever see it, but I know it’s there lol
So my question is, can you use a different material like ABS to print the raft? I have a Flashforge Creator Pro so I have a dual extruder. I was more wondering if the two different materials will play well and whether or not the ABS raft will leave some residue on the wood print.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Yes you can use a different material for support or raft, its in the settings in simplify3d.
edit process settings + additions +use raft +choose left or right extruder to use for raft

I was more wondering whether the abs raft would negatively affect the wood fill? Like would the material be too soft to support it or would it blend?
Oh, sorry did not quite understand the question. My suggestion is for you to print something small and use ABS as you raft. Sometimes experimentation is the only way.
