Alright so I’ve been printing for 3 years now but the commissions people have been asking for are way too big. I completed my first printer but the bed weighs too much, the nema 17 motor can bring the bed down but it cannot push it up. If I put force under the bed the motor is able to push the upward. Now I bought a Nema 23 high torque motor. Will it be enough to push my bed up or should I find a way to help create more tension upward on the bed?

What is the thread pitch and size for your z-axis threaded rod? This will help determine the weight your motor can lift.

The threaded rod is 8mm in diameter with a pitch of 2mm. I have one threaded rod on each side. It’s connected with a parallel rod with two pulleys on each side to connect the threaded rods so they run at the same time when the motor runs

Z axis movement troubles could be commonly caused due to the Z drive screw. Make sure that the Z drive screw is in the coupling and also ensure to eliminate any gaps between the motor coupling and start of the thread.
Besides, check the electronics to ensure accuracy of Z jumpers which could also create Z axis movement troubles.
