I recently updated my Powerspec 3d pro 2 (more or less a rebranded flashforge creator pro) printer’s firmware to the newest release of sailfish. Since then, changing tools fails. I have tried replicatorG and Simplify 3d. when using simplify 3d, I seem to have something along the lines of:
-start printing correctly with right extruder
-tool moves 35mm right in order to line up the left extruder
-print continues, printing the material meant to be made by the left extruder, but the material is actually printed by the right extruder, 35 mm to the right of the first layer.
-tool does not move back to the left upon change to the right extruder, print continues from the right extruder, lined up correctly with the second layer, still 35mm right of the first layer
-repeat - every pair of tool changes results in the print being another 35 mm further right.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have reflashed the firmware, tried two slicers, and attempted to check that all settings in both slicer and firmware look correct, but I’m guessing I’m missing something fairly simple…
Where did Sailfish come from? A lot of these type machines run a modified version of it and if you flash the wrong one you will wipe out some settings.
It is possible this is what happened. If so then you may need to go back to the factory version or get into the firmware to changes settings back to what it needs.
I would suggest Googling on this to see what you can find out.
Did you reset to defaults?

6.4.1 Step 7: Establish factory defaults
Now it is time to reset the printer’s onboard settings to factory defaults. This will ensure that all important settings are correct. It will also attempt to preserve any calibrations, cumulative print time counters, and filament usage counters.
The simplest way to reset the printer to factory defaults is to power on your printer and then, from the front panel display, select the “Utilities” item in the main menu.2 From the “Utilities” menu, select the “Restore Settings” item, which you will find near the end of the list. After selecting it, confirm the operation. At that point, your printer will set itself to factory defaults and then “reboot” itself.
