Hi guys. I just wanted to make this thread in order to post my experiences with 3d printing. Currently I, along with my father and a few friends (a high school student along with a mechanical engineer) are in the process of making a 3d printer for the market (we hope to possibly launch this year on Kickstarter). As we go through the prototype stages, I just wanted to post the progress along with tips and tricks of how to get more out of your 3d printer. Also, if you have any tips or tricks, or some cool projects that you need help with, feel free to post anything related in this thread. Any advice is greatly appreciated and I am sure that many people are willing to learn from those that have more experience. Thanks for your time and have fun with 3d printing!

Wow sounds exciting! I would recommend you start a youtube channel or blog (wordpress) of sorts as this forum thread is probably not the best medium to share your experience and what you learn,

Also I have been working with mechanical engineers as part of the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers annual design competition (http://csme-ndc.ca/). to build our 3D printer to enter the competition since September. I was also part of the team the year before and we build our own 3D printer and placed 3rd (it was our first time competing).

I would love to chat (google hangouts/skype) about what you have planned. I could share my experiences so you won’t have to repeat our mistakes.

I am also curious as to what features you would like to include in your 3D printer. If you are interested send me an enquiry via my Hub and I will give you my email address. I don’t want to post it here, because of the high potential of it being picked up by spammers and etc…
