Hey everyone,
I am trying to setup my HUB by passing an order request but I’m having a little bit of difficulty with my print. I’m currently using a Lulzbot TAZ 6 while using eSun Black PLA (I know it’s not the best but it’s what I’ve got for now). The order is for 100 microns and I am using the Cura profile setup by Aleph Objects (they make Lulzbot) with settings at the following: print speed - 50 mm/s, printing temperature - 205 C, bed temp - 60, infill - 50%, layer height - 0.14 mm, flow - 100.0%, diameter - 2.85 mm, shell thickness - 1.0 mm, no support, and no platform adhesion.
For those that have done this print with a TAZ 6, what can I do to get better results? Have you had the same issues? Is this even passable in quality?
Thanks,
Andy Zimmerman
Looks like heat is an issue and also nothing wrong with eSun.
General things for Marvin are - slow down to maybe 20mm/sec. Drop the temp of extrusion as low as it will print ok. Maybe 195-190. Drop bed temp a bit after first layer as long as he sticks. Make sure part cooling fan is on and if you don’t have one then set up some kind of cooling to help. Small table fan or something.
Also printing 2-4 at a time can help.
By the way. It does not look bad at all for such a small print.
Small prints are always tricky.
I think it helps to print slow and more than one at once to get a longer cooling time between the layers.
Okay I’m going to try those adjustments today to see if it improves the print at all. I feel like the main issue has been the distortion on the back of the print but I did fail my initial order because of the quality I got. Hopefully I can get this dialed in right.
Yeah I am trying some new settings offered by the other user to hopefully get it right. Small prints are difficult, especially with a .5 mm nozzle it seems but it still seems capable. Wish me luck! I’ll post my results.
