Hello everyone! I’ve been a proud owner of the 2016 FlashForge pro for about a week now and so far I’m loving it! Quick question?? My first print consisted of a file I found on the SD card… It was a round cylinder with a Chinese character in the middle, very cool print. Anyhow when the print started it created a line from the edge of the plate then started printing. How do I get that initial line to print? I’m using FlashPrint and can’t seem to find that option. Hope this makes sense. Thanks guys!!!

Flashprint creates that line automatically once you slice your model in Flashprint. As far as i know you cannot adjust settings for that first line of material in FlashPrint. The idea behind this line is to fill the Nozzle completely with Material so the actual Print of your object can start with a fully loaded nozzle. Besides that there is always some leftover Material from the last Print a the tip of the Nozzle. Due to printing that first line this excess Material is removed.

Hi,

How thick is the line, maybe it was just the leftover from the purging that the printer does before printing.

This line is needed to avoid starting printing having no soft material available. You can customize lenght and distance of that line in the advanced settings.

Found it! Had no idea about advanced mode. Thanks everyone!
