Been using an Eden 260V machine for quite some time without major issues.
Lately though i’m getting a Y Encoder error (MCB: Y encoder error). Has anyone got any idea how to troubleshoot this?
The printer seems responsive to everything, but right before printing anything from pattern test to a print job, it halts because of Y encoder.
Thanks for all input
After some digging I found that the Y encoder steps need to be recalibrated.
In the Maintenance menu -> Calibrate there is a tab that says Y steps per Pixel. It states “Enter measured distance in um” and our is blank. Haven’t seen it before so I don’t know what the value should be. Has someone seen this before?
Thanks again!
I would drop stratasys a message. They should have that info readily available and be able to tell what value to pop in there.
Allright in case anyone has had a similar issue, I think I’ve found what was wrong. For some reason in the built in tests the printer had stored wrong Y steps per pixel value . The tricky part is that you can’t just input that value in the Maintenance -> Calibration… -> Y steps tab. You have to go about it another way.
What I did was go to C/Eden 260/Modes directory, and manually edit whatever value is shown as out or range in the Built-in tests. Mine was the Y steps per Pixel and could be found in the General folder. The value stored in the txt/cfg files from which the printer takes data was 28.9999 while the acceptable range is 23.9474-24.3442. So I replaced the 28.9999 with 24.9474 and voila, problem solved… so far!!!
