Hi,

I have a velleman 3d printer and I want to create a start gcode which will move the extruder up 5cm then move it over to the start point above the print, lower to start position and then actually start printing.

Normally 3d printers home, then moved the extruder across the build plate to the start point and starts printing.
But in my case I am not printing on the build plate but on a dinner plate.
As all dinner plates have a rim higher than the centre of the plate the extruder needs to get over the rim, then lower itself to start printing. Otherwise the extruder would run into the side of the dinner plate.

Can anyone provide the gcode that I can use to do exactly this?

I use Repetier host and Slic3r.
