For some reason or other, my models are coming off the printer soft and see through (like looking through a knitted jumper). My drawings, done on 123D Design, have been working fine for months - same model repeatedly with a 3mm thick wall (shell).
I guess I must have altered some setting somewhere. Can anyone assist and tell me what I’ve done wrong, or not done.

Sounds like something might be wrong with your printer or print settings, could you post a little more information about these things?

Hello. Thank you for the quick response. Please bear in mind that I am relatively new to 3D printing. I think the figures you’re asking for are as follows. Layer height - 0.15, Shell thickness - 1, Bottom/top thickness - 0.6, Fill density - 10, Print speed - 50, Print temperature - 210, Bed temperature - 70, Diameter mm - 2.85, Flow % - 100, Nozzle size - 0.4mm
My queries on the above are that when I drew the model months ago on 123D, I made the shell thickness of my item to be 3mm. Also, I’m sure the Print temperature was 215. Also, the diameter of the P.L.A. that I’m using is 1.75.
Any advice and assistance would be most welcome. Cheers.
Also, as I say, the model has printed brilliantly for nearly three months. Cheers
At first glance, the two filament diameters you mentioned were different (1.75 and 2.85).
Other than that a small blockage in the nozzle (dust or otherwise) is possible. This would lead to a slight underextrusion from the nozzle. I don’t see how the origin of the model would affect the print as any .stl would be in the same format of any other .stl with a closed surface.

Spot on. Cleaned the nozzle and altered a few figures (after checking standard settings for PLA on You Tube) and everything is fine now. Thanks a lot. Much appreciated.
