HI,

I’m very interested in purchasing a dual extruder CTC printer but I’m not sure if I should get it from EBay or direct from CTC.

Can anyone recommend any good EBay sellers?

Are there any EBay sellers to avoid?

The CTC website has the printers at a better price than some EBay sellers.

Any suggestions/advice would be great.

Thanks.

Hi, I bought mine on ebay.co.uk at the beginning of June last year from doria-store and everything turned out just fine…!

I bought their new printer (formaker) directly from them, not very happy from their support…

If you buy from ebay you can get a,

for $400 and free shipping. If you buy from the ctc website it comes from China and you might have to pay for shipping. The printer is $50 more too. I bought my 2 printers from the link above.

HI

MY RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE DONT BUY ctc 3D PRINTER ONE OF THE VERSE DESIGN I ALREADY BOUGHT MORE THEN 4 TIMES AND EVERY TIMES BAD EXPERIENCE NO MATTER YOU BUY DIRECT FROM CTC OR FROM ANY OTHER SUPPLIER

@Fayaz_Choudhary You again? Really? Last time I saw you, you’d only made 6 comments on the forum and they were all about how totally s**t CTC printers are. So I gotta ask, which one is it, Wanhao or FlashForge? Who signs your checks? (Can’t be MakerBot, they have higher standards for their trolls.)

When you buy any type of 3D printer that is a Makerbot dual clone you are going to have some updates, repairs and maintenance you’ll have to do on theses things. I have 3 Makerbot 2x’s at my school I teach that I paid $2000 for and my ctc printers prints better than they do. I’ve also had to repair these just as much as my CTC printers. I’ve done some upgrades and changes to my CTC printers but that’s the fun part of type of printer. You can buy replacement parts on ebay or amazon and repair it yourself instead of sending it in. So for the price of $400 why not. If you’re not handy buy the more expensive Stratarys like the Mojo or Uprints for thousands of dollars or have some fun with the CTC the best low priced 3D printer. Hell, I would buy 3 more if I needed too. Here is picture of my 2 CTC printers. That comment made me laugh too about not liking the printers and then buying 3 more. Thanks…

I got my printer from ‘colorday888’ or at least that’s their name now, it used to be ctc-printer2014 or something, but they’re a good seller. Fast shipping, the printer worked great out of the box, and they honored the warranty coverage when I eventually needed a replacement thermocouple. So I’d call that a win.

I can’t believe how low the prices on these things are going… They’re $400 now? 15 months ago, when I bought mine, it was $550! And just a couple months before that, they were still $700! It’s a very solid starting printer you can make all sorts of mods to, rather like those 40-watt Chinese laser cutter/engravers. (Which, ironically enough, are also like $400 now.)

Yes! This, so much! Out of the box, it’s a decent printer, once you’ve got it fine-tuned, it’s a great printer…but once you start making modifications and some basic improvements to it (like a borosilicate glass bed)…it becomes an outstanding printer! Which is just kind of ludicrous when you think about how cheap they’re becoming.

And unlike the current MakerBots, you can repair, rebuild, and modify it all you want! None of that non-serviceable blackbox nonsense like the ‘smart’ extruders.

I could use three more of these too… Or at least another. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thanks for all of the useful advice. It’s good to read about the experience of others.

I’m in Australia and the Ebay prices vary from $570 to $599 AUD with free shipping and a roll of filament.

There are quite a few sellers on eBay.com.au including some of the sellers that have been mentioned.

I think that I will buy from Ebay rather then direct from CTC.
They have been responsive to my emails asking about pricing and delivery charges but I get the feeling from the replies that they don’t quite understand what I’m asking.

Thanks again.
