Hello.
I am printing with Flashprint using my Finder 3D printer. For models that have very thin designs, I am finding that when I try and remove the supports, everything just breaks apart. I am pretty new to 3D printing, admittedly, and was curious if there is something I can do to make things more sturdy? Should I change the support settings? Change other settings? If so, which ones? I’ve been primarilly using a pair of needle nose pliers but have often found that sometimes my prints, especially if parts are thin, can be very brittle and snap off.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Check in Flashprint under the support settings that you have a gap between the supports and the model that is sufficient to allow relatively easy removal.
Usually 1 layer between the top of supports and the model is ok.
Also when removing you might look at using an X-acto knife or other object to carefully work in between the support and the model to pry it loose. Just don’t get cut.
Supports just take time and practice to get a feel for what works and what doesn’t.
