I’m not sure if it was a bad relay or poor wiring on my part. I purchased the relay pictured and linked, wired it up according to the diagram included. As soon as I gave the printer the command to head the bed, I noticed a small spark at the bed connector on the board and what sounded like a gunshot. the relay exploded, I almost pooped myself, and fell backwards out of my chair (lolz). I’m not sure if this came from a bad relay, or if I goofed the wiring. Any help would be appreciated.

that’s + from psu in to relay, relay out to + of the bed. - from bed to - on the psu and Board connector to relay.

Hey EvilsWay,

I don’t think it was from the wiring, as relays are extremely difficult to explode, unless you run 110-240V through the coil. (yes I tried it :-P)

My guess is that it is from a faulty relay

Your relay did not explode. From the pictures it looked like the capacitor popped. That could happen if it was soldered on wrong, theres a positive and negative lead on it. Do it wrong and it goes poof

Yeah I gathered that’s what happened. The board on the anet isn’t labeled for positive and negative since it doesn’t matter to the heat bed where you plug it in. Like a dummy I didnt remember that and didn’t take a multimeter to it.

Hello, mine exploded too, exactly wired like that,I bought another capacitor and installed did you know how to wire it correctly now? a diagram to conect it to the board could help, thanks!
