I require a 3D prototype ( in strong and flexible nylon ) of an item i have that is made of stainless steel. I do not have a file as such that i can download and send to be printed i only have the actual made product.

I wish to have a prototype produced with the hope of bulk production in the future.

I am based in cronulla sydney n.s.w.australia.

I am hoping that somebody local can help me out.

Regards,

Stephen Milham

Hi Stephen,

as I’m sure you’re aware, you will need a 3D model of the item you want to have printed. There are two ways of obtaining this file. Either you have it completely 3D modelled from scratch or your have your original product 3D scanned.

There are pro’s and con’s to both methods but I would suggest that you get in touch with Sam-Choy’s Hub who is from the Cronulla area. He has listed that he is capable of 3D scanning and might be able to help you out. Feel free to check out his Hub profile right here and feel free to use the “Contact this Hub” button to get in touch with him. Unfortunately he won’t be able to help you with the actual production of your 3D print if you are set on having it in Strong and Flexible Nylon but once you have the file, you can upload it to the 3D Print Page on 3D Hubs and select “Strong and Flexible Nylon” to find an SLS Hub in your area.

I hope this was helpful.

Cheers,
Robin - Head of Customer Support - 3D Hubs

Hi Stephen, we would love to help you out, whether scanning, CAD or the actual printing. If you could send us a photo so I have a bettee idea what we are talking about - to . Thanks

Hi Stephen,

Can I suggest you post a photo of the object? Or is this confidential?

If you are looking to mass produce, you may want to consider manufacturing method - 3d print will give you a prototype but that may not be the best solution for bulk.

Matt

HI, Stephen,

do you have a sketch or picture? I can 3D model it and 3D print or CNC machined. I you are thinking of bulk production machining could be a better option. i am based in Northmead NSW.
