Im currently working with ABS on two different machine, thats the Flash Forge crator and Airwolf3d 2DX, im am hopeing for some slicing settings that may get me moving in the right direction. Thanks EVERYONE!

Hi Jordan,

could you explain, what exactly your problems are, according to these descriptions we could help you out with the right settings.

Cheers,

Marius Breuer

If you would describe the job you want to do it would be indeed easier to help you out

There is a very nice post about printing a perfect Marvin with ABS with the Flashforge you might find something here: Talk Manufacturing | Hubs

Are you just starting out? If so keep it simple and stupid, don’t do anything radical stick to the basics. When you get a couple of jobs under your belt start looking to improve your techniques and materials. Also since you have two printers experiment on one and leave the other set up to do your jobs that will come in at the most inconvenient time. Your standard settings should get you good results when you need better results experiment first then offer the improved prints.

Not sure what you looking for. I have used makerware slicer. I did upgrade to sailfish firmware and may do it again soon. I’ve replace the plastic arms with metal upgrade kit. I put in titanium nozzles. I use a glass plate for everything with aquanet hair spray.

Setting for ABS Heated bed at 110. The temperature depends on the filament but 230 is usually good. I extrude at 35. And move at 140. ABS needs a level bed and is subject to warping. I don’t have the acrylic on mine yet. I have a creator x. ABS does better if you keep the heat in and pla is better if you have a fan. I started using a mini fan. Stops the spongy prints moving. Hope this helps.

and what slicer you’re using ?

For Flashforge Creator Pro

ABS (Esun Filaments)

Extruder Temp : 230C

Heated Bed Temp : 110C

Speed : 4200 mm/sec (Large without tiny details), 2100 mm/sec (Large or Small, with fine details)

PLA (Esun Filaments)

Extruder Temp : 230C

Heated Bed Temp : 55C

Speed : 4200 mm/sec (Large without tiny details), 2100 mm/sec (Large or Small, with fine details)

Hope this helps
