Hi,
do you concider Colorfabb’s XT for the spring ? XT is a Polyester and PET is just a special kind of Polyester, so this could work.
Otherwise i could also offer prints in Taulman’s T-Glase. That’s actual PET, but with composite chemicals to make it tougher, i think it’s not flexible enough depending on what hardness your springs should have.
As last i could offer Taulman’s Bridge Nylon, this is somewhat flexible and really tough (in terms of force required to break this material, not in terms of stiffness), you’d have a hard time breaking it, therefore it won’t snap when high forces are apllied, while T-Glase could more likely break.
I am trying to get my hands on some other Nylon materials, but for this purpose they are fairly similar.
Take a look at taulman3d.com and colorfabb.com for the data sheets.
What size should the spring have? I do not only offer printing but also CAD services so i could design any spring you want, aswell as parts that allow easy mounting of the spring, for example a base cylinder that the spring is printed on with custom screw holes or similar.
Beside that my printer features dual extrusion, if you want the spring to have a helix shape (cylindrical) then you have to get this made with support material, which my printer can do.
Another material that you maybe concider is ABS, this however would only work if the spring does bend relatively less and doesn’t have to sustain high forces.
I do not offer Innoflex materials, but dependend on your order size i’ll buy Innoflex for your springs, the choise of colors is yours. The other materials are available in White, milky and clear optics, Colorfabb’s XT is available in 11 other colors, if you need those the same as for Innoflex applies.
