The Made in Space printer -see attached image- just churned out its first print, its a backup part for the 3d printer itself branded with some Made In Space & Nasa typography (however rumours have it they first printed a Marvin).
It looks like there’s not much inspiration yet on what to print in space, so why not start collecting ideas here. We’ll send it over the most upvoted ideas to our friends at Made In Space and who knows maybe we’ll see it floating by in the weeks to come!
Make sure to attach both an image and .stl file.

What’s the name of that dog again, that first went into space? Printing a statue of him would be nice! Also, you get a pet in space, which is unprecedented I think

indeed. did alread send mails to the NASA press/pr staff, the german DLR (who schedule the german experiments), the university of heidelberg (who design fun experiments for teh astronauts to do in their freetime) and to some guys that i am told of who operate the 3d printer on the ISS from earth.
i learned that the 3d printer is operated in the US compartment, but in general it is available to every nation. atm there are some calibrationtests and a lot of ‘does it work at all’ going on, and there is a long list of stuff to be printed by a lot of groups such as material scientists but also sponsors etc. so chances are pretty small to get the traveller printed but nonetheless chances do exist. i’ve been to some personal … heavy weather in the last weeks, so i didnt have time to push the 80prints project as i should have. but i will resume the work on this front soon. maybe this will generate the momentum to drive the 5th filament into space.

To summarize in English, according to Dan Huot is Public Affairs Officer at NASA: Objet is ABS plastic and the first part took 74 minutes to print. The printer could print faster, but since Nasa are learning how it operates in micro-g and don’t want it to go as fast as it could until the process is well understood. The first part dimensions are: Length: 2.32", Width: 1.61", Height: 0.20". The print volume is 2.36" x 4.72" x 2.36". That was the space allocated for it on the station that had the necessary connections to support the 3D printer.
