I just got my mini and printing the sample cat. Now I downloaded a print and sliced it with Cura. Before the printer starts printing it tries to move too far to the left and bangs into the machine. I’m assuming its something I did wrong in cura?

Hi,
It sounds like something might be wrong with the endstop. When you tell the printer to home, does it hit each end stop correctly and register the location?
If it does, then it’s possible you need to switch the origin of one of the axes. Hopefully someone will be able to provide you with a working Cura profile. Monoprice Select Mini v2?

check the end stop switch. Sound like the head is not being detected at x limit.
the switch can be defective or moved in shipping.
Move the head by hand all the way by hand with the printer off and you should hear a click as switch is triggered

Check your start and end gcode setting in cura.
Also make sure, the centre 0 option isnt selected in cura. The select mini does not have a centre 0. If you have this selected, it will think that the print head is in the centre of the bed when its at the end stops.

I ran into that too, when I first got my Mini. It happens after you cancel a print via the control panel. There’s a bug in the microcode and something doesn’t get initialized correctly.
There may be a bit of gcode you can insert (via cura) at the start of every print to forestall it, but the easiest solution, for me, was to remember to power-cycle the machine after a canceled print.
If you connect via USB with Octoprint (typically running on a Raspberry Pi) and cancel via Octoprint, then the problem doesn’t happen, so it is apparently sending whatever commands are necessary already.
Hope this helps, it’s a fun machine.
Thanks for all the replies. It turned out I just had to change the machine settings in Cura to match my machine build area size (120 mm). I also copied some ones else’s print head settings and Gantry height.
Thanks. It was an issue with my Cura settings. I correctly changed the printer settings (x,y, z) to 120 mm and copied someone else other settings. T
